Howl To The Chief (formerly Chateau Animaux) was purchased February of 2012.  I have been involved in animal nutrition since the 1990’s when my dogs coats begin to develop bad coats, constant urinary tract infections and then ultimately bone cancer.  Its then I began my intense research of the ingredients found in pet food. After all – why is cancer only running wild in humans and dogs (now cats too).  My answer was that these are the only species that are eating highly processed food. Many of the food products found in pet food are highly processed and artificial foods, composed of unnatural ingredients, such as soy meal, artificial colorings and flavorings, as well as harmful preservatives such as BHA, BHT and ethoxyquin. They are loaded with fillers and other unhealthy ingredients such as corn gluten, wheat gluten, meat by-products and artificial preservatives, flavors or colors. Many of the meat by-products are from slaughter houses and not considered fit for human consumption.  The best diets for both dogs and cats are natural ones, coming as close as possible to the diet they would eat in the wild and the less processed the better.

Since then becoming a “pet food ingredient guru” became a passion of mine.  I left my career in engineering to join the pet food industry with a major pet food distributor and loved all the nutritional classes and education seminars they provided –I was like a sponge!  I immediately fell in the love with the industry but most of all I fell in love with helping people with their pet’s nutritional needs. The opportunity to purchase Chateau Animaux came along and for me it was the “window of opportunity” for me to really do what I love and I couldn’t be happier with my decision!   I look forward to helping you with your pets nutritional needs!
